Autumn in Rutland

I  absolutely love Rutland in the autumn.  I took this photo last year just outside Edith Weston as the autumn sun was rising.

The weather has been unusually warm and it is only now that we  are enjoying crisp autumn mornings.  As well as the beautiful autumn scenery, Rutland is particularly quiet at this time of the year which makes for some great walks from the cottage. You could walk for miles without seeing another sole. As Christmas beckons, the lovely independent shops in Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford are bursting with unique gift ideas as well so stay at this time of the year is usually combined with some retail therapy!

If you are visiting the area and are looking for a holiday cottage in Rutland then Puddle Cottage could be for you. The cottage was built in the 1800’s and keeps many of its original charms such as the open log fire, exposed beams and feature stonework. The cottage has recently been renovated and awarded its 4 star status by Quality in Tourism with features such as a dishwasher, washing machine, flat screen TV with Freeview and WIFI which is available to our guests free of charge. The 1 bedroom cottage can either be presented as a super king size bed or with 2 full size single beds. Well behaved dogs are also very welcome and there are many fantastic walks locally. For more details, please contact Anna on 07734175291 or e/mail enquiries@puddle-cottage.co.uk. We would be delighted to welcome you to the area.
