Where is Rutland?

Multum in Parvo!

Rutland is a county in the East Midlands and borders Leicestershire, Linconshire and Northamptonshire.  Leicestershire borders the West and North of the county, Lincolnshire the Northeast and Northamptonshire the South East. At is longest, Rutland is only 18 miles long and 17 miles wide, and therefore the smallest county in the United Kingdom, hence the motto for Rutland is ‘Multum in Parvo’  – Latin for ‘much in little’. The only towns in Rutland are Oakham and Uppingham. Stamford, although presumed to be in Rutland, is actually ‘over the border’ in Lincolnshire. Rutland Water is at the centre of the county.
